Current and past research has involved evaluation and pharmacokinetics of drugs in the pediatric critical care population, as well as use of lactobacillus, iron and vitamin D supplements in the PICU. Other research interests have included neurology, traumatic brain injury, anticonvulsants, asthma, pediatric education, and professionalism in pharmacy school.

Dr. Chung's research is focused on pediatrics, HIV and asthma. Her primary area of interest is pediatric critical care and anticonvulsants. She has obtained grant support for research involving pharmacist involvement in a mobile asthma clinic.
