Expertise
Dr. Swaim has an interest and expertise in the field of wound healing and reconstructive surgery. In general, he is interested in research and clinical application of techniques and products to enhance wound healing or reconstruct problem wounds. He hasdone research and published in the in the area of pressure ulcers, looking at developement of an animal model, and investigating techniques for the prevention and treatment of these wounds. He also has an interest in, has done research on and publishedin the field of distal limb wounds. This includes work with paw wounds in animals. Much of the research done is on a comparative basis, investigating wounds that are a problem in man and animals.
