Professor Nair's current research interests are in the areas of strategic supply chain management, quality management and innovation & technology management. In the strategic supply chain management research theme, he is investigating issues such as competitive priorities, global operations management, flexibility strategy, agile and lean operations, just-in-time strategy, postponement and speculation strategy, integrated supply chain management, issues underlying inter-organizational network relationships (such as collaboration, trust and opportunism among value chain network members, incentive schemes, contract mechanisms, lock-ins, channel control, and power dynamics), and supplier development strategy. The quality management research theme focuses on management of multiple dimensions of quality, quality control activities, six sigma operations, and total quality management. Innovation & technology management research theme addresses product, process and administrative innovation strategies, new product development, and issues underlying technological evolution.
Professor Nair's current research interests are in the areas of Inter-organizational Relationships in Supply Networks, Retailing and Innovation and Quality Strategy.
Dr. Nair's methodological orientation for research include empirical analysis using econometric and psychometric methods, computational experiments using complexity theory and complex adaptive systems approach, Monte Carlo simulations, data envelopment analysis and mathematical modeling using game theory, optimal control theory, theory of differential games, and stochastic processes.
