My research seeks to elucidate mechanisms that may explain disparities in mental and physical health for children from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. As part of the Child Sleep, Health and Development Lab, my current research focuses on sleep as a fundamental aspect of bio-behavioral regulation and a potential mediator or moderator in pathways linking poverty, family stress, and overall well being. This research has been strongly influenced by a multidisciplinary approach to developmental science and seeks to provide insights useful for clinical, public health, policy, and educational applications.
