Jennie Baumann is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Auburn University. Her academic focus centers on literacy development and comprehension strategies particularly within K–12 education. Baumann’s research explores how dialogic classroom talk can foster meaning-making, as well as how student knowledge and comprehension strategies support effective instruction in the science of reading. Her work also addresses assessment and feedback practices in elementary and middle school literacy, and highlights a commitment to supporting diverse learners—including multilingual students and those with learning differences. Through these pursuits, Baumann contributes to advancing evidence-based, inclusive practices in teacher preparation and classroom pedagogy.
