Her teaching focuses on design foundations both in studio and seminar settings. She is a Registered Architect whose work mediates the scope of objects, interiors, and architecture.

Her research is centered on the interaction and interplay between people, products, and the built environment.

Alyssa Kuhns is a Registered Architect whose work mediates the scope of objects, interiors, and architecture.

She is currently the inaugural Interior Architecture Fellow at the University of Tennessee Knoxville and is in the process of completing her fellowship research which investigates discrepancies between idealistic and realistic representations of domestic interiors.
