Primary research interests include: 1) Foodborne pathogen detection: Develop AI-enabled paper sensor detection methods for real-time foodborne pathogen detection in foods; 2) Pathogen risk prediction: Developing mathematical/AI models to predict bacteria behavior and product shelf-life for risk assessment; 3) Evaluate and develop mitigation strategies to control pathogen risks in foods.
