Jeff LaMondia is a national expert in travel demand, active travel safety and travel choice/behavior analyses. His expertise is in the development and application of discrete choice models as well as advanced travel survey methods.
Dr. LaMondia's research focuses on two major areas: equitable planning for vulnerable road users (VRU), with an emphasis on promoting safe cycling, and modeling long distance travel behavior, with a focus on activity participation and tour scheduling.
He often develops advanced technologies for his research, including creating his own smartphone application for tracking cyclist routes, coding simulation and network prioritization tools in geographic information systems (GIS), and distributing the first web-based longitudinal survey of overnight travel (LSOT).
