In the past, Dr. Wright’s research interests have involved both vector-borne diseases and the zoonoses including Lyme disease, West Nile virus, and bluetongue. He also was involved in studies on the use of an intradermal rabies vaccine for humans. Presently he is a member of a pre-harvest food safety research group studying novel methods for the reduction of salmonella shedding in calves.
This group also is investigating the movement of different serovars of salmonella among different animal species using environmental sampling.
