Dr. Brunner's research deals with mechanisms of immunological resistance to viral and bacterial infections in animals. Her work employs flow cytometric analysis, PCR, immunohistochemistry, and a variety of other techniques to explore nonspecific and specific immune responses. She is currently investigating factors that affect disease severity in largemouth bass Micropterus salmoides infected with largemouth bass virus.
