My research focuses on the biology and management of recreational sport fisheries. I examine processes and describe population functions including growth, mortality, and recruitment in fishes. I am involved in both simulation modeling and statistical analyses of data and work closely with natural resource agencies to improve management and understanding of valuable fishery resources. My primary emphasis has been on warm-water sport fisheries. Finally, I have conducted research pertaining to water quality, aquatic plants, and genetic influences and interactions on fish.
