Expertise

My research interests are interdisciplinary: my background is in commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. I'm especially interested in problems which can be studied from a computational standpoint, and in interactions with problems in applied mathematics. My current applied work is on two themes:

  • Approximation theory, Interpolation, and Geometric modeling
  • Topological data analysis and trading networks

Subject Areas:

  • Algebra
  • Applied Mathematics
  • Geometry

Research and Teaching Interests:

  • Algebraic Geometry, Commutative Algebra, Topology and Applied Math. Teaching at all levels, including outreach classes to high school students on the mathematics of Google.
