Expertise
My research is oriented towards endocrine - immune system interactions. Specifically studies of disease effects on hormone regulation and studies on the effects of anabolic hormones on the progression of a disease.

Regulation of growth hormone secretion and gene expression, particularly with reference to signal transduction mechanisms in the anterior pituitary gland. The relationship between the endocrine system and disease, with emphasis on the effects of disease on hormone secretion and the effects of hormones on the progression of diseases.

Primary research and teaching interests are in the area of endocrinology. The general thrust of research has been in the area of control of appetite in sheep, particularly orexin, neuropeptide Y, melanin concentrating hormone and AGRP. Tumor pathobiology; reproductive hormones in primary mammary tumors and cell lines; neurofibromatosis; skin and reproductive pathology.
