The foundation of my research program is focused on the practical problems experienced by cotton andsoybean producers in Alabama and the southeastern U.S. My extension programming provides many opportunities to visit producers in the field and observe problems associated with production. It is through these visits and numerous meetings that I am able to design my research program to fill specific scientific voids. The trials are conducted via small plot research trials on Alabama Experiment Station locations or may be conducted in producer's fields. It has been my experience that on-farm research often has a much higher degree of acceptance since the producer can participate and gain a better understanding of the work.
