Dr. Naskou’s research activities are focused on the investigation of platelet and stem cell based therapeutic approaches for the treatment of inflammatory and immune mediated conditions. Main areas of research include Extracellular Vesicles derived from Stem Cells, Platelet Lysate, Immunology and Regenerative Medicine. Her efforts are focused on the optimization of cell culture conditions for the clinical preparation of stem cell-based therapeutics, the use of Stem Cell derived Extracellular Vesicles against neuroinflammation as seen in many neurodegenerative disorders including Sandhoff disease, and to elucidate the exact mechanism by which attenuation of inflammation can be achieved with such novel therapeutics. Dr. Naskou also leads various clinical pathology related projects such as case reports and retrospective studies.
