Expertise

My research interest is predominantly in the association between psychosocial factors (e.g., depression and anxiety) and mechanisms underlying disease pathogenesis and progression (e.g., obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease). More specifically, I am interested in the role of health behaviors as key mechanisms in the progression from psychological distress to disease. The objective of this line of research is to identify as psychological and behavioral risk factors for negative health outcomes.
