Dr. Plager has delivered over 225 lectures nationally and internationally on a wide range of topics in pediatric ophthalmology: from cataracts to glaucoma to vascular malformations and on a wide range of strabismus topics- he has a particular interest in the treatment of oblique muscle dysfunction. 

Dr. Plager's research interests include strabismus, pediatric cataracts, pediatric glaucoma, infantile hemangioma and vascular malformations.

Dr. Plager's clinical interests include eye muscle disorders in children and adults; pediatric cataracts; pediatric glaucoma; infantile hemangioma and vascular malformations; retinoblastoma and pediatric ocular tumors; ptosis and pediatric oculoplastic disorders; inherited and genetic eye diseases.
