Kathleen M. Hanna's current program of research focuses on the transition to young adulthood among youth with type 1 diabetes. As well as focusing upon diabetes management, glycemic control and quality of life, the study focuses upon typical health behaviors of this age group such as alcohol use, weight control behaviors, and smoking and how individual characteristics, parent-adolescent relationships and transitional events influence these behaviors and outcomes.
