Expertise

Dr. Shyam's research group is interested in identifying the cell signaling mechanisms that help maintain the health of various regions in the eye. The Shyam lab is pursuing several projects focusing on corneal endothelial homeostasis.

Science Interests :

  • Cell signaling pathways that regulate corneal endothelial homeostasis.

Active Projects

  • Functions of Slc4a11 in the eye
  • Aberrant protein clearance pathways in Fuchs Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy
  • Extracellular Matrix and its Role in Corneal endothelial health
  • Role of Mucins in Dry Eye Disease
