Expertise

Research and teaching interests include comparative and international politics, East Asian politics, electoral politics and electoral reform, survey research and research methodology.

My main research agenda focuses on the electoral politics of East Asian democracies (Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan), with particular attention to the effects of the mixed-member system for legislative elections.

More recently, my interests have expanded into the intersection of misinformation, fact-checking, and free speech, where I intend to conduct comparative research in the US, East Asia, and beyond.
