Dr. Seo's research centers around evidence synthesis and epidemiological investigations of tobacco/nicotine use and addictive behavior, and their comorbid mental health problems and cross-over effects on health outcomes such as physical inactivity and obesity. Recent research agenda of Dr. Seo are centered on nicotine product use and associated disparities experienced by vulnerable populations (e.g., adolescents, people with mental health conditions, women of reproductive age, rural residents, racial/ethnic minorities, and sexual/gender minorities).
His research centers around evidence synthesis and epidemiological investigations of addictive behavior and substance use prevention interventions in adolescents, their comorbid mental health problems, and obesity prevention. His approaches include secondary data analysis, meta-analysis, machine learning, socio-ecological and cognitive-behavioral approaches.
