Expertise

Dr. Srour's research interests include:

  • Hematopoietic stem cell biology and cell cycle regulation, interactions between hematopoietic stem cells and elements of the hematopoietic niche and how these interactions modulate the maintenance and self-renewal potential of stem cells, multiple myeloma stem cells and bone lytic disease in myeloma.

Research:

  • Human stem and progenitor cell biology in general and the possible use of purified preparations of these cells in transplantation. In addition, my laboratory is also pursuing mechanisms which would allow for ex vivo expansion of stem cells and their utilization as vehicles for gene therapy.
