Expertise

Our research encompasses a wide range of study approaches and aquatic environments including streams, floodplains, wetlands, and estuaries.

Chris's research examines the effects of human activities on a wide range of aquatic and riparian ecosystems

Current Projects:

  • Long-term monitoring and community dynamics associated with tidal freshwater forested wetlands along the lower Apalachicola River
  • A coupled natural-human framework for risk assessment of coastal communities from land-use and climate change
  • Evaluating fire for the control and restoration of a Chinese privet infested bottomland forest in Alabama
  • The effect of stormwater on salt marsh habitat and resident fish

Recent projects:

  • Spatial models for mapping stream head channels
  • Wetland functional response to hydrologic degradation and recovery
  • Effects of land conversion on coastal headwater wetlands
  • Prospects for wetland impact and recovery from oil spills

Anderson is an expert in wetland riparian environments, including the study of coastal wetlands, land use impacts, and functional responses to human disturbance.
